OUR Story
The One Punch Can Kill™ campaign is a grassroots means of engaging with groups to educate and spread awareness about domestic, youth and community violence to equip, empower and advocate for change on a systemic level - In hopes of preventing ‘coward punch’ attacks. OPCK is an anti-violence campaign focused on educating men and women in self-control and the consequences of violence, seeking to promote respect, restraint and responsibility.
To date, the campaign has presented to thousands of Queensland school students (visiting hundreds of state schools in Queensland), among other diverse groups. The OPCK program is conducted both by people who have lost someone to homicide, as well as industry experts. Programs are aimed at creating awareness to the consequences of violence as well as providing preventative skills to increase personal safety; the programs aim to shift cultural attitudes and change individual’s behaviours to prevent senseless violence in the community. The OPCK presentations are relevant and impactful, especially in today’s culture where domestic, youth and community violence are at an all time high.
The Queensland Homicide Victims’ Support Group is the owner of the original and trademarked One Punch Can Kill™ campaign. For more information about QHVSG, please visit the dedicated website - QHVSG - Specialising in Homicide Support & Recovery
